Bali is like paradise island. It is one of most popular tourism destinations in the world right now as 2017. And last few decades it has also become an increasingly popular location for investing in property. However buying a house or villa in Bali not very similar to western countries or others.
Can foreigners buy property in Indonesia?
Buying a house or land or any property in Bali can be complicated because laws in Indonesia for a foreigner. In Indonesia a foreigner CAN NOT own a real estate legally as freehold. But there are still ways to have property. For example contract it for long-term (Leasehold).
- Having KITAS or KITAP (Temporary and Permanent Residential Visa)
- Having international company (PT. PMA “similar to LLC – Limited Liability Company”)
- Lease Hold (Long Term contract or renting or Hak Pakai “a type of sertificate means Right to Use” ) or use certain certificate called Hak Guna Bangunan (Right to Build).
